Said Rashid that the coming stage will witness an increase in the rates of export of garments and textiles within the framework of the implementation of the Ministry's strategy to double exports during the next four years, saying the ministry's keenness to support this important industry, which Egypt has a competitive advantage high enable them to compete in global markets.
He pointed out that the ministry has developed a plan for coordination and cooperation with the councils of export of yarn, textiles and clothing to open new markets for Egyptian exports of this sector and remove the problems facing the industry.
For his part, said Mamdouh Mustafa, Chairman of the Commercial Representation that Egypt retained the status of the 17 among the largest exporters of clothing and textiles to the U.S. market and the value of exports under the QIZ Protocol QIZ textile and apparel exports rose by 11.2% reaching 666.8 million dollars during the period from January to September of in 2010 compared to 599.7 million dollars during the same period in 2009 and represented the garments of cotton the most important export item of clothing and textiles increased by 73.9% of the total exports of clothing during the period from January to September of 2010, showing growth of 10% during this period.
